Travel Tips

Bahasa Malaysia is the national language and English is widely spoken. The ethnic groups also speak various languages and dialects.

Shopping & Dining Out Hours

Most shopping malls and restaurants are open from 10am – 10pm all week.

Malaysia experiences climate common for the tropics due to its close location to the Equator. Visitors can experience high temperatures and the humid climate as well as rain, which could be considered constants all year round. With daytime temperatures averaging from 32 to 34 degrees Celsius, the afternoon showers, which are expected during the conference period, will bring great relief to the humid conditions. We advise attendees to keep hydrated by drinking lots of water.

There are many currency exchange outlets available in the airport, major shopping malls, and bank offices, where you may change your currency with the Malaysian currency Ringgit Malaysia (RM).

Electrical Plugs

240V, 50Hz

Credit Cards

All our main shopping malls and department stores accept credit cards. Major credit cards such as Visa, and MasterCard (American Express is also available, though not in as many places) are accepted. However, check with the store or restaurant on their card use terms before you shop or dine there. Also, keep in mind to bring some Ringgit Malaysia (RM) cash for good measure.
